Terms of Service.
Last updated: April 30, 2025
Dear Vera is a private documentation review service. By using our site or submitting materials to Vera’s mailbox, you agree to the following terms:
1. Service Description
Dear Vera offers quiet reflection on uploaded documentation. Your materials are reviewed by trained paralegals with experience in high-conflict relationships and domestic dynamics. You receive a private letter reflecting back what your documents show — calmly, clearly, and without legal or clinical judgment.
We do not provide legal advice, therapy, or crisis intervention.
2. Confidentiality & Data Handling
Your privacy is central to our work.
We do not share, sell, or disclose your materials to anyone.
Uploaded content is deleted from our system after your letter is delivered.
We do not retain copies, unless you specifically request extended access.
That said, no internet-based system is 100% secure. By using our service, you acknowledge this minimal risk.
3. User Responsibilities
By using Dear Vera, you agree to:
Use a safe email address and device (especially in situations involving abuse or coercion)
Only upload documents you have the right to share (e.g., not stolen or illegally obtained)
Not use this service to harass, impersonate, or harm others
We reserve the right to deny or revoke service in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, or malicious activity.
4. Fees & Refund Policy
Dear Vera operates on a flat-fee basis.
Once you submit materials to Vera’s mailbox, the fee becomes nonrefundable, as review work begins immediately.
If you have not submitted any materials and request a refund within 24 hours of payment, we will issue a full refund.
If no uploads are received within 24 hours, Vera will begin processing your letter using only the written form responses provided. In this case, the fee remains nonrefundable.
Sponsored submissions are handled with the same care and finality, but incur no cost to the user.
5. Disclaimer of Guarantees
We do not guarantee that our reflection will be legally admissible, emotionally satisfying, or aligned with any outside agency’s standards. You understand that:
This is a private interpretation of documentation, not a legal service or mental health treatment
You are solely responsible for how you use the letter you receive
Vera’s letter is informational, not prescriptive
6. Service Availability
We reserve the right to modify, pause, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will always honor pending submissions or issue refunds if we cannot complete a paid review.
7. Age Requirement
This service is intended for individuals aged 18 or older. By submitting materials, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
